What is onwardticket.com?

Onwardticket.com provides verifiable flight reservations that can be used as proof of onward travel when entering a country. All onward tickets booked on this website come with a verifiable PNR in your name. These onward tickets cost $16 each and are valid for 48 hours.

Onward tickets booked on this platform display your full name, arrival and destination airports, airline name, flight number, dates and times. These tickets, however, do not show the total price of the ticket.

They also offer the option of choosing a one-way or return flight, multi-stop or only direct flights, and receiving the flight reservation right away or at a later date.

***

Is onwardticket.com legit?

Yes. Onward Ticket is a legitimate service offering a hassle-free way to secure proof of onward travel. They offer temporary flight reservations that fulfill the requirement of presenting a booked exit flight ticket from the country.

Onward Ticket boasts a 4.6 rating on Trustpilot, making it a trustable service for obtaining proof of onward travel. I have used them on various occasions and I’m quite satisfied with their service.

Should you use onwardticket.com for your proof of onward travel?

Onward Ticket is particularly useful to digital nomads, frequent travelers and those who prefer to keep their travel plans flexible. If you value convenience and prefer to avoid complications at the airport or immigration, using a service like onwardticket.com is a smart choice.

If you prefer traditional travel planning and travel with a fixed itinerary, you will not find their service necessary. You may have your return ticket booked already as part of your travel planning. So you will simply show your booked return ticket when asked for an onward ticket.

What are the pros and cons of using onwardticket.com for flight tickets?

As with any service, there are both pros and cons to using onwardticket.com. Let’s start with the benefits:

—

Pros of using onwardticket.com

1. Instant Booking

Onward Ticket offers instant booking. You can download your flight reservation as soon as you complete the booking.

Most other services in the market do not offer instant booking, making you wait a few hours to receive your onward ticket.

2. Tickets are valid for 48 hours

The generated onward tickets are valid for 48 hours. This gives you plenty of time to fulfill the onward travel requirement.

Since the tickets are valid for 48 hours, they can also be used for obtaining visa on arrival at the border or as a flight reservation for visa application.

3. Offer direct flight option

They offer direct flight options for those avoiding transit in countries that require visas. If you have a layover in a country that requires a visa such as the USA, the flight staff are likely to ask for your transit or tourist visa for that country.

4. Support payment in USD and EUR

Onward Ticket supports payment in both USD and EUR. This makes it convenient for travelers from various parts of the world.

5. Accept cards and PayPal

They accept payments using credit/debit cards and PayPal. Having the PayPal option is super helpful for those looking for safety and fast checkout.

6. Offer discounts and coupons

They offer discounts and coupons from time to time. You can use the code VT5 to get a 5% discount. This coupon is valid till the end of September 2023.

7. High Trustpilot rating (4.6)

Onward Ticket boasts a remarkable 4.6 rating on Trustpilot. Such a high rating indicates a high level of customer satisfaction and reliability.

8. Prompt customer service

Their customer service is very responsive. They usually respond within an hour. You can always contact them if you encounter any issues or have questions.

Cons of using onwardticket.com

1. No e-ticket number

Onward tickets booked on onwardticket.com are flight reservations only. They do not have an e-ticket number unlike the flight tickets booked on the airline website by paying full price.

Occasionally airline staff ask for an onward ticket with an e-ticket number. This happens very rarely but if asked for an e-ticket number, you may not be able to use the flight ticket bought from onwardticket.com. You may need an actual ticket with an e-ticket number.

You can try to convince the airline staff or buy an actual flight ticket right then to meet the onward travel requirement.

Buying a flight ticket on the spot can be expensive and also a waste of money if you are not likely to use the flight ticket. If you ever end up in that situation, you can look into booking a refundable ticket from Expedia.

2. No control over the airline or layovers

The Onward Ticket website does not allow you to pick the airline. You might end up receiving a flight reservation on an unfamiliar airline or on the same airline as the one you are traveling with. In such cases, the airline staff may likely verify your ticket or may ask to see an e-ticket number.

The website also does not allow you to pick the route or layovers. You can choose to get a direct flight by paying an additional $2 USD. But if the system cannot find any available direct flights, then you have no choice but to book an onward ticket with layovers.

The issue with no control over layovers is that you may receive a booking with layovers in countries that require visas. In such cases, the airline staff may demand to see your visas. This did not happen to me or anyone I know, but there is a possibility.

My personal experience with onwardticket.com

Onward Ticket Sample

I have used Onward Ticket on several occasions. These tickets were accepted as proof of onward travel on all my trips except for one instance. I can’t go over all my experiences but you can read some of my experiences below.

Traveling from Georgia to Turkey

I bought an onward ticket when I was flying to Turkey from Georgia. Neither the airline staff nor the immigration in Turkey asked for proof of onward travel. Had they asked, I could have simply shown them my booking from onwardticket.com.

Traveling from India to the Philippines

When I was flying to the Philippines from India, the airline staff asked for my onward ticket. I simply showed them the flight reservation bought from onwardticket.com on my phone. They were fine with it. They checked me in and gave me the boarding pass.

Travel from Vietnam to Armenia

Unfortunately, this time it did not go well. I was asked to show the e-ticket number for the booking. As you know, the tickets booked on onwardticket.com do not have an e-ticket number. I tried to explain and the airline worker was not convinced. She asked to me talk to their manager. The manager accepted my explanation and allowed us to check-in.

Final thoughts

Onwardticket.com offers a convenient solution for proof of onward travel. Their service may not be necessary for every traveler. But they are definitely helpful for digital nomads, frequent travelers and especially for those who value flexibility and ease.

In this onward ticket review, I weighed the pros and cons of using onwardticket.com. In my opinion, their pros outweigh their cons making them the best onward ticket service in the market.

They have a high Trustpilot rating indicating that they value quality and customer satisfaction. I have used them for my trips and my experience has been great as well.
