You can apply for a Fiji tourist visa either online or at an embassy abroad. Owing to its relative simplicity, I advise you to submit your application online on the Fiji Immigration website.

There are 2 types of tourist visas:

  • Single Entry Visa: Valid for 3 months, costs 95.10 FJD (43$)
  • Multiple Entry Visa: Valid for 12 months, costs 189.15 FJD (86$)

Both these visas allow stays of up to 4 months, extendable by 2 months once.

Document requirements

You have to submit the following documents.

  • Completed and scanned Visa Application Form
  • Passport biodata page
  • Two recent passport-sized photos
  • Hotel booking confirmation or a letter by a local sponsor if staying with family/friends
  • Travel itinerary including flight tickets
  • Visa for the next country (if required)
  • A recent Bank Statement
  • Copy of Sponsor Valid I.D/Passport/ Permit
  • Consent letter from the spouse (if traveling alone)
  • Consent letter from parents (for 18 years and under) and traveling alone
  • Leave letter from the workplace

Procedure

It’s easiest to apply for the visa online on the Fiji Immigration portal. Follow the outlined steps and make sure to upload all documents before you submit.

You can also apply in person at the Fiji embassy. Enquire in person for the exact requirements.

Read the article on Fiji Tourist Visa Online for detailed information on requirements, application process, fee and procedure at the border.

Visa Extension

All tourist visas can be extended by 2 months by filling out the Visitors Permit Extention form and lodging it at the nearest immigration department or online on the Fiji Immigration portal.

You must apply for the extension before your original visitor’s permit expires.

The cost of the visitor permit extension is 95.10 FJD (~43$).

***

Transit Visa

If you have a connecting flight within 3 hours, no visa is required. However, you cannot leave the transit zone of Nadi Airport.

For transit between 3 and 72 hours, you need a transit visa which costs 95.10 FJD (~43$).

The required documents are simplified to only the bare minimum:

  1. Completed and scanned Visa Application Form
  2. Copy of passport bio-data page
  3. Two recent passport-size photos
  4. Proof of onward ticket to the next destination
  5. Proof of visa for next country (if required)

Visa-exempt nationalities do not need a transit visa because they can enter Fiji freely.
