Cambodia visa requirements are clear and easy to understand. Cambodia has an excellent Visa on Arrival (VOA) policy offering Visas on Arrival for almost all nationalities. Cambodia e-Visa, introduced in 2017 is now available to all nationalities.

Cambodia Visa Policy
Except 9 countries in ASEAN, all countries require a visa to travel to Cambodia. Visas can be obtain on arrival at the border or online.
Visa on Arrival remains a popular visa option for tourists. e-Visa system was introduced in 2017, which now includes all nationalities. Even though e-Visa is now available to all nationalities, it still remains a less-popular choice as e-Visas are accepted only at a limited number of borders.
Visa types
Cambodia offers 4 different visa options for tourists.
- Visa Exemption: 9 countries from ASEAN are visa exempt for 14-30 days
- Visa on Arrival (VOA): All but 10 nationalities are eligible for Visa on Arrival (VOA) for 30 days
- e-Visa: All nationalities can obtain e-Visa for stays up to 30 days
- Visa Required: 10 nationalities are required to obtain a visa from the embassy before arrival
Entry requirements
Tourists traveling to Cambodia must hold the following:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months on the day of arrival
- Valid Cambodian visa (VOA-eligible nationals can obtain visas on arrival)
- Valid return or onward ticket to the next destination
- Completed Cambodia e-Arrival card (must present the QR code on arrival)

Cambodia Visa on Arrival (VOA)
Most nationalities can obtain the Cambodia Visa on Arrival (VOA) at all international airports, seaports and land border crossings in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos.
Cambodia Visa on Arrival is issued for stays up to 30 days, single-entry only. A 1-month extension is possible.
The VOA fee is 30 USD payable in US dollars only. The ATMs at the VOA sections do not usually work. So make sure to carry cash in US dollars.

Allowed ports of entry
Visa on Arrival can be obtained at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports and all international land border crossings from Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
Documents required
You only need your passport and 30 USD cash to obtain the Visa on Arrival. Cambodia has phased out filling out the VOA application forms and submitting passport-size photos. But you may still be required to fill out the form and/or provide a photo when obtaining VOA at some land border crossings.
The passport must have at least 6 months of validity with 1 blank page.
Procedure to obtain VOA at the airport, seaport or land border
After arrival, head to the Visa on Arrival area. If filling out an application is required, grab an application and fill it out.
You will see two to three counters. One to submit the documents, one to pay the fee, and the last to pick up the passport. Head to the first counter and submit the following.
- Original passport
- Completed Visa on Arrival application form (if required)
- One passport-size photo (if required)
Go to the second counter and wait till they call your name. When they call your name, pay the visa fee of 30 USD and pick up your passport.

Cambodia e-Visa
All nationalities are eligible to apply for Cambodia e-Visa online. You will receive your approved e-Visa in your email. You can also download it from the e-Visa portal. You must present a copy of your approved e-Visa at the port of entry in Cambodia.
Cambodia e-Visa is valid for 3 months starting from the date of issue. E-visa can be used for a 30-day stay, single-entry only.
Cambodia e-Visas are accepted at the following ports only.

You can exit from any port with your e-Visa. There are no restrictions on exiting the country on an e-Visa.
Documents required
While filling out the online application, you must upload the following
- One recent passport-size digital photo (JPG or PNG only)
- Scanned copy of the passport ID page
Visa fee and processing time
The visa fee is 36 USD (30 USD application fee and 6 USD processing fee). Processing takes 3 business days.
Fraudulent websites
There are 100s of fraudulent Cambodia eVisa websites. Cambodia Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a list of known fraudulent Cambodia eVisa websites. Make sure you are not falling prey to any of these fraudulent websites.
IMPORTANT
The ONLY and OFFICIAL Cambodia eVisa portal is https://www.evisa.gov.kh/. Any other site is fraudulent. Check the URL carefully before applying for your Cambodia eVisa.

Cambodia Tourist Visa
The following 10 nationalities must arrange a pre-approved tourist visa for Cambodia from their nearest Cambodian embassy before travel. These 10 nationalities are eligible for eVisa but not eligible for Visa on Arrival (VOA).

Cambodia visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. It allows for a 30-day stay, single-entry only. A 30-day extension is possible.
The visa fee is 30 USD or its equivalent in local currency. Processing time is 3 business days but in some instances, it can take longer.

Cambodia e-Arrival Card
Cambodia has introduced the electronic version of it’s arrival card, called Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA). Completing the e-Arrival card online is mandatory for all visitors starting from 01 July 2024.
The Cambodia e-Arrival serves as Immigration card, health declaration and customs declaration. It also speeds up your Visa on Arrival process at the border.
You must submit the e-Arrival card online within 7 days before you arrive in Cambodia. After submitting your e-Arrival card, you must download, screenshot or print the QR code which you wil have to show at the immigration on arrival.
You can also submit your arrival card using the Cambodia e-Arrival App on your smart phone. Here are links to download the app.
If you submit your arrival card using the mobile app, you do not need to screenshot or print the QR code. The QR code will be saved in the app and will be accessible even without the internet. You can simply open your app and scan/show the QR code at immigration.
