The Philippines e-Visa was introduced in August 2023 as a pilot to facilitate simpler visa application processing. It was initially intended for use by Indian and Chinese passport holders. Now, the e-Visa system is expanded to all nationalities currently residing in 45 countries.
Even though it’s an e-Visa, the Philippines embassy or consulate that has jurisdiction over your location may ask you to appear for an in-person interview.
QUICK SUMMARY:
- Eligibility: All nationalities residing in any of the specific 45 countries
- Validity: 3 months (single-entry) and 6 months or 1 year (multiple-entry)
- Allowed stay: 14, 30 or 59 days (non-extendable)
- Processing time: 7-12 working days (single-entry) or 15-21 working days (multiple-entry)
- Fee: 40 to 120 USD + 25 USD (convenience fee)
Check out the Philippines visa guide for general information on various visas for tourists, their eligibility, requirements and airport procedures.

What is the validity of Philippines e-Visa?
The Philippines e-Visa validity depends on whether it’s single-entry or multiple-entry. Single-entry e-Visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Multiple-entry e-Visas are valid for 6 months or 1 year.
| e-Visa Type | Validity |
|---|---|
| Single-entry | 3 months |
| Multiple-entry | 6 months or 1 year |
The e-Visa will be linked to your passport. So if you renew or get a new passport, your e-Visa will become invalid. In such a case, you must apply for a fresh e-Visa with your new passport.
The e-Visa is non-extendable. If you are planning to extend your Philippines visa, you must opt for a regular sticker visa from the embassy.
***
What is the allowed duration of stay?
The allowed duration of stay is either 14, 30 or 59 days, depending on the nationality. Refer to the table below.
| Nationality | Allowed duration of stay |
|---|---|
| China | 14 days |
| Visa-Required nationalities | 30 days |
| Visa-Exempt nationalities | 59 days |
***
What are the allowed ports of entry?
Except for Chinese nationals, all nationals are allowed to enter the Philippines using an e-Visa from any international airport or seaport.
Chinese nationals are only allowed to enter via Manila or Cebu international airports.
***
When to apply for Philippines e-Visa?
The Philippines e-Visa processing takes from 7-21 working days, depending on whether it’s single or multiple-entry.
On top of that, the Philippines embassy or consulate responsible for processing your e-Visa does not operate on local and Filipino national holidays, and those days are not considered working days. There are about 18-20 Filipino national holidays.
So accounting the long processing time and holidays, I suggest applying at least one and a half months before your trip.
To summarize:
- Earliest to apply: 3 months
- Latest to apply: 1.5 months
