The price quote email from British Airways resembles a flight itinerary. You can print this email and use it as a flight itinerary for visa. A price quote also works as a dummy ticket for UK visa.

Eventhough a flight itinerary is not required for UK visas anymore, it is still required for certain nationalities. The price quote email from British Airways is a quick and inexpensive option.

I have used a British Airways flight quote email for my UK visa application, and it was accepted without any issues. Many readers have used it for their UK visa applications as well.

Dear sir, I have to apply for UK Transit visa. Is the British Airways email quote strong enough to prove my onward journey to the destination country. Please suggest.

Hi Srinivas Rao! No. The British Airways email price quote will not work for a UK transit visa. You would need a confirmed flight ticket. Or in the least, a confirmed booking from a travel agent.

Hi, is it ok if I use a flight itinerary service website to get the Itinerary? They have even options to book hotels as well.

Hi Raashid! Yes, absolutely. Flight itinerary websites are even better. Their flight itineraries come with a PNR number and valid for up to 2 weeks. So go for it.

I emailed the quote via British Airways but in the email, it’s showing as ‘the flight mat not be available for this price for long’. Doesn’t it reflect that we have not booked the flight yet? Another thing I wanted to ask. Can we book the hotel too in this way?

Hi Himanshu! Consulates themselves do not recommend buying flight tickets before getting the visa. Therefore, holding a flight ticket or in the case of UK visa, a price quote is enough. You cannot book a hotel this way. But you can find a ton of “refundable” and “pay at the hotel” options on hotel booking websites such as Booking.com or Expedia. You can book one of those hotels and cancel them after getting your visa.
